CO2 Laser

CO2 lasers are very effective for the treatment of scarring (including acne scarring), sun damage and signs of skin ageing such as wrinkling and loss of elastic tissue. CO2 laser can also be used for the treatment of sun spots and early skin cancers on the lower lip, and to remove age spots (seborrhoeic keratoses).

Skin resurfacing with CO2 laser is markedly effective for deep lines, wrinkles and chronic sun damage. It requires nerve blocks and is performed by our dermatologists. The typical downtime for fully ablative treatment is 2-3 weeks, but the transformation can be dramatic. Superficial treatments have a shorter downtime of approximately 1 week. Final results may take 3-6 months to be apparent, due to collagen remodelling.

For acne scarring, the CO2 laser may be used in combination with other techniques, such as peel chemical (TCA cross) to raise indented scars, or surgery (subcision) to release scar tethering.

Disclaimer

Cosmetic procedures and laser treatments are elective interventions designed to enhance or improve appearance. While many patients achieve satisfactory results, it is important to understand that individual outcomes may vary significantly depending on factors such as skin type, age, genetics, lifestyle, medical history, and adherence to pre- and post-treatment care.

No Guarantee of Results:
We strive to deliver the best possible results, but no medical or cosmetic procedure can guarantee a specific outcome. Patients may experience varying degrees of improvement, and in some cases, results may be subtle or not meet expectations. Multiple sessions may be required to achieve optimal outcomes.

Risks and Limitations:
All procedures carry inherent risks and potential side effects, including but not limited to redness, swelling, bruising, pigment changes, scarring, or unsatisfactory results. These risks will be discussed during your consultation and informed consent process.

Healing and Maintenance:
Healing times, final results, and duration of effects vary from person to person. Some procedures may require ongoing maintenance or follow-up treatments to sustain results. Strict adherence to post-procedure care instructions is essential to minimise complications and optimise results.

Consultation and Individual Assessment:
Prior to any treatment, a comprehensive consultation is necessary to determine your suitability and develop a personalized treatment plan. Any images, testimonials, or examples provided are for illustrative purposes only and do not guarantee similar results.
